My obligatory "OhmyGod college is sooooo crazy" Post10:09 PM
And I reiterate: OhmyGod college is sooooo crazy.
For starters: I go to the most beautiful school in the nation, Hope College! Starting off here has been pretty good, but with all change comes varying hardships.
First of all, the homework load is grand. I always worked hard in high school, so I don't feel too stressed, but it's still a lot of new types of learning. We do way more reading and papers than in high school. The good thing is, you're at school 24/7 so the resources are basically within your reach outside your dorm window, and sometimes you don't really have anything better to do than to work ahead.
Making friends is hard too, even though in college orientation you're thrown into all of these groups and such in order to make them. The fact of the matter is, I'm quite quiet (tongue twister), and making friends is hard for even outgoing people sometimes! I know I'll have a good group in a jiffy though, because everyone here is super nice and inviting : )
Third, all I think about is food. I'm not sure why. My biggest concern before noon is what's on the lunch menu in the dining hall, and my biggest concern after lunch is what's on the menu for dinner. It's seriously deranged and kind of cute at the same time. I can't explain it.
To finish off this random post about how my life has once again been flipped upside down, I'd like to leave you with the reason I'm at this lovely school! God gives me HOPE that I have made the right decision in my college choice everyday through the beautiful campus and great people. Little things happen every day that make me see that this is true : )
|See that? Right there? That's GOD.|
